Effective Oct 1, 2021, many Funeral Establishments and Straight Disposal Establishments may use EDRS to satisfy the majority of the Bodies Handled Written report requirements found in section 497.382, Florida Statutes, and Rule 69K-xx.001, Florida Statutes. Full directions for using EDRS for this purpose are available in this document: Directions for EDRS re Bodies Handled Reporting 9-27-21. The Department of Wellness has too provided guidelines to requite our licensees additional assistance on using the EDRS Reports Tab: Reports Tab – Guidelines.

These new functions to EDRS are the effect of a complex articulation project with the Section of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics, and our Segmentation. Nosotros are very pleased to be able to offer Florida's Funeral Establishments and Direct Disposal Establishments the additional options for completing their monthly Bodies Handled Report requirements.

The Division of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services protects decease care industry consumers purchasing preneed burial rights equally well as those purchasing funeral and burial merchandise or services.  It as well oversees licensed establishments, facilities, and cemetery grounds by conducting annual inspections.

The Sectionalization has established qualifications for professions and occupations in the decease care industry. These professions and occupations include but are not limited to funeral directing, embalming, preneed sales and monument sales. Furthermore, the Partition ensures death care professionals maintain their qualifications through continuing teaching courses and licensure renewal. Lastly, The Segmentation ensures effective subject area for those licensees who take violated the police.

The death of a loved one is a traumatic event and oft forces families to brand funeral and burying decisions quickly. By visiting this website, consumers will be able to learn more than about the industry and will then be able to make more informed choices that best fit their needs during this hard time.

Our mission is to license qualified professionals and entities in the decease intendance industry, regulate the activities of those licensees, provide timely and accurate information regarding the death care industry, and continually meliorate the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal processes. In this way, the Division delivers value to the citizens of Florida and protects expiry care manufacture consumers during times of potential significant emotional distress.
